Notes:
He moved his family to San Diego in 1922, to Culver City in 1924 and to Los Angeles in 1926. He brought the family to CA in a Dodge touring car.
He was exempt from service in WWI as he had children.
He graduated from Montana State College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts in 1908. He was Senior Class Treasurer, a member of Engineer`s and Les Bouffons and part of a choral group. He sang at weddings in MT and other social events. He acted in plays & sang musical numbers in them (see newspaper articles in media).
He sold a patented paving product to the City of Los Angeles and suffered a nervous breakdown shortly before his death.
Obituary LA Times, November 22, 1949:
Widener, Carl Sr., late of 2648 South La Brea Avenue, loving husband of Mrs. Ruth Widener, father of Alfred and Carl Widener and Mrs. Shirley Allen. Services today, 2 p.m. at the Bramble Funeral Home, 1816 Toberman Street.
