Graduate of San Fernando High. Left home in 1946 and moved in with a nurse friend.
After high school she attended Los Angeles City College for two years at night while attending a business school during the day. She and her friend, Edith Serles, received their pilot`s licenses in Reno, NV in 1943. Wanted to be in the WASP but was unsuccessful in that endeavor.
She worked for an insurance company as a proofer and then went to work for DWP, first in the valley and then in Los Angeles where she met Carl in 1946. She sold War Bonds at DWP in 1942.
She became a stewardess for Western Airlines in 1946. Received her training in Los Angeles.
In `70s started taking art lessons and soon became an accomplished painter in oils as well as pastels and water color. She also dabbled in china painting, and did intricate needlework.
Active at San Fernando 1st Church of Christ from time she moved to CA. Served as Wedding Hostess for many years.
Charter member of church`s camper club, Travel Heirs, until they sold their motorhome.
