The place of marriage is deduced from the fact that the first eight
childred were suppose to have been borned in Bedford Co, TN.

Enoch Porter Haynes, Sr., was born 6 February 1800, in Rowan Co, N.C.
He was married March 6, 1820, in Bedford Co, TN, to Mary Eleanor Patton, born 1802. She was the daughter of James Patton and Sarah Cunningham-Patton. Enoch was the eleventh and last child of Joseph Haynes, Sr and Eleanor Nellie Sloan-Haynes. His father, Joseph, moved the family from North Carolina to Tennessee in 1806, when Enoch Sr., was six years old. Enoch Sr., lived in Tennessee until about 1840, when he moved his family to Missouri and settled in Carroll County. He fathered fifteen children, was a farmer and a Presbyterian.
Enoch Sr., died in April 1855, and Mary Eleanor followed shortly thereafter in October 1855.
