Notes:
16 Sep 1751: Arrived Philadelphia, PA on USA ship "Brothers"
The following information comes from the History Center at http://www.crosswinds.net/~mapletree/History_Center.htm "Many of the Zickafoose family came from the Palatinate Kingdom of Germany due to religious persecution. The name Palatinate was originally given to the Imperial castles of the German Empire. They were strategically located to maintain order and to administer justice. Later, the title was retained by only two of the territorial magnates of the Empire, whose states were distinguished as the Upper and Lower Palatinate. As a result of the suffering of the people through several wars, many came to the American colonies. They were encouraged to settle in the western part of the colony of Virginia (now West Virginia). West Virginia became a state on June 20, 1863, and some county lines changed over a period of several years, thus the reason many were born in Virginia and died in West Virginia.
Records of Augusta County, Virginia reports in Vol. 1 Pg. 217, September 19, 1780 that the administration of the estate of Jacob Sigerfoos granted to William Rusk, Christiana, the widow, having refused to administer. "
