TN, who was a private in the Company commanded by Captain Deason of the Reg. commanded by Colonel Marshall in the SC line for 1 year. Inscribed on the Roll of W. TN Feb. 25, `4, at the rate of 40 dollars per annum, to commence on the 4th of March 1831. Certificate of Pension issued the 27 day of March 1833 and sent to J. McKisick, Shelbyville TN - Arrears to the 4th of March 1833 $80.00 / Semi anl. allowance ending 4 Sep $20.00 / Total $100.00

Declaration in order to obtain the benefit of the Act of Congress passes 7th June 1832.
On this 14th day of August in the year of our Lord 1832, personally appeared in open court before John L. Neill, Samuel Phillips and John B. Armstrong, Esquires, gentlemen, Justices of the Peace appointed to hold the Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions for the County of Bedford in the State of TN, now sitting, Nathan Frizzell, a resident of Bedford Co TN, aged 73 years and 7 days who being first sworn according to law, doth on his oath make the following declatation in order to obtain the benefit of the Act of Congress passed the 7th of Jun 1832. That he entered the service of the US under the following named officers and served as state that he entered the service as a volunteer under Capt. Wm. Deason in what is now calle Chesterfield District in the State of SC, sometime in the month of OCtober 1780 and was attached to a Reg. commanded by Col. John Marshall of Gen. Sumpter`s Brigade. He states they were not marched from that County or District any distance but was engaged in reconnoitring and acted as Rangers, and watching the movements of the Tories, until the following May, when he states Col. Marshalls` Reg. was attached to Gen. Green`s Army. He states he was marched with Gen. Green`s Army from Camden, SC to the high hills of Santee by way of a little town called Statesville, from that on to the Eutaw Springs, where he was in an engagement against the British, who was under the command of Lord Roddin. He states that Col. Wm. Washington was taken prisoner at that engagement by the British. He states that the Company he belonged to was permitted to return after the Battle of Eutaw Springs, after serving about 8 months. He was attached to Gen. Sumpter`s Brigade again and continued with him until Cornwallis was taken. He was engaged in several small skirmished with the Tories, one at Regeley`s Mill on Grannery`s Quarter Creek, and one at Rockey Mount on Catawba River and ....
