Some info from Claiborne Co., TN Court of Pleas & Quarter Session 1819-1821 pg. 10 - Tuesday November 9th 1819 After making proclamation the court proceeded to the Election of a constable in the bounds of Capt. John Rogerses Company and after counting and compairing the votes it appeared that Reuben B. Rogers was duly and constitutionally Elected constable of said bounds who was sworn as the Law dericts and entered into bond together with William Rogers and William Maddy, Jr. as his Security in the sum of five hundred dollars.
pg. 122 - Tues. May 11th 1820 - The State vs Rubin B. Rogers - This day came the state by her solecitor and the defendant being solemly called to bring into court the body of John Cary as he was bound to do this day brought him not but wholy made default. Therefore it is considered by the court that the said Defendant forfeet and pay to the state the sum of two hundred dollars his forfeeted recognizance unless he show suffecent cause to the contrary by the next term of this court and that a scirefacias issue.
